What is Home Sharing?
Home Sharing is an arrangement where two or more unrelated people share a dwelling, each having her or his private bedroom and shared common areas. This type of shared arrangement usually involves a homeowner (known as the “home provider) and a renter (known as the “home seeker”), although it could be two or more people renting a house or apartment together. Home sharers may arrange a regular rental agreement or exchange services for a portion of the rent. No two Home Sharing situations are alike; each is tailored to the unique needs and desires of the people involved.
Outer Cape HomeShare is a pilot program funded by the Community Health Network (CHNA 27) for the purpose of creating a homesharing program on Outer Cape Cod. The collaborating partners are Homeless Prevention Council and Helping Our Women. The services are offered at no cost to the public.
